51³Ô¹ÏÍø

I am nominating for the position of Academic staff member on Council as a husband and father; a member of the LGBTIQA+ community; and an early career researcher in the practice of tech policy at the ANU Tech Policy Design Centre in the College of Law.

I am conscious of our diverse Academic community, the different paths we follow and the challenges that we face as people and a profession. I have arrived here via my own non-traditional academic pathway, working in policy, advocacy, communications, and management roles both within and outside of the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø.

At the ANU there are many pressing issues, particularly the poor financial situation which is having a direct and noticeable effect on our community. The ANU Council has oversight of the whole 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and must act on all matters in its best interest.

With your vote, I will provide an effective voice at the Council table for our community when such issues are discussed, and decisions made. 

I have served on the boards of several organisations, most significantly the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø of Tasmania Council and the Diversity Council Australia. If elected, I know how to effectively represent the voice of our community at Council.
