Mr Rob McGauran

Founding Director of Award Winning Design Practice MGS Architects, Rob was awarded a Life Fellowship of the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) in 1999 and Fellow of the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association in 2010. 

In addition to leading major city plans for Hobart and Geelong, he has led campus and urban renewal projects, including masterplans, for UNSW, Monash, La Trobe, Victoria 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, Federation 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø of Wollongong and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø of Canberra and award winning urban renewal, affordable housing, education and community projects. 

Rob has held design advisory roles for governments and institutions including as Chair of Sullivans Cove Design Advisory Panel in Tasmania, member of the Victorian Government's Design Review and Priority Development Panels and Building and Estates Committees at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø of Melbourne and UTAS, 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Architect for Monash 51³Ô¹ÏÍø and Future Ambassador for Future Melbourne 2026.

Rob has also held roles as National and State Councillor of the AIA, Chairman of the Architects Registration Board of Victoria and board roles with not-for-profit organisations Housing Choices Australia and The Song Room.  Rob is a Professional Fellow at the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø of Melbourne, an Adjunct Professor of Architectural Practice and Urban Design at Monash 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, a member of the Society of College and 51³Ô¹ÏÍø Planners and a board member of Australia's largest philanthropic community fund, the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation.
