The impact of orientation and transition programs on new students

Please note this study is closed.

Would you like to contribute valuable information to help us understand student's connection to the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø, challenges student's face and participation in the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø's orientation and transition programs, and get a thank you gift at the same time?

We are looking for incoming undergraduate domestic students to participate in a longitudinal study to share your experiences and feelings on your connection, support and engagement with the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø. We will also ask if you will allow us to access your final GPA at ANU, you can participate in the study without allowing this linkage.

The findings of this study may have important implications for our understanding of the potential impact orientation and transition programs have in the long run helping us improve support provided by ANU.

You do NOT need to have engaged in any orientation or transition programs to participate - we are looking to see if participating in transition programs makes a difference in how connected to and supported by the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø someone feels, as well as if it makes a difference in their academic outcomes, so we're keen to hear from you whether you've engaged or not.

The survey will take 15-20 minutes to complete and will repeat bi-annually, all eligible students who completes a survey will receive a $5 digital gift voucher for each survey round done. To be eligible you must be an undergraduate domestic students starting at ANU since Semester 1, 2021.

Interviews will shortly commence to add the student voice and a greater understanding of experiences to this study. Participation in these interviews will help us learn more about the transition experience of students, what was helpful, what can be improved, and what impact the transition experience had, good or bad.
